The Christmas season is spreading in New Meridian. Trees are being decorated, children are lining up to see Santa Claus, and everything seems to be cheerful.
One young woman, however, is not brimming with joy and cheer. That woman is Painwheel, who is wandering the streets of the city. She has a small flower in her hair, something that reminds of the times before she was a monster. As she looks around, she sees people with so many happy expressions on their faces, and she remembers when her parents shunned her for being a monster. A tear falls from her mask. As she continues to walk down the streets, she turns her head and finds MadMan's Cafe, with a young girl sipping a milkshake. She looked oddly familiar, but she could not bring herself to walk inside. The last thing she wanted to do was attract more attention. All she could do was stare through the window.
The young woman sipping the milkshake is called Filia. A regular schoolgirl to the untrained eye. Most schoolgirls with alluring and amazing bodies would act snobbish and entitled solely on their looks, correct? Filia was not like that. At all. Despite her luscious curves, and amazing backside, she was a very kind girl, putting others before herself. Despite being a member of the Medici bloodline, she was lucky enough not to inherit their heinous traits. Back to our story. As she takes a sip from her milkshake, her eyes wander around the cafe, and something catches her eye. A rather beautiful flower, one belonging to Painwheel. She finishes her drink and decides to head to where the flower is.
Painwheel wonders where the girl went. Then something taps her shoulder. Startled, the nail in her shoulder extended, cutting the palm of the young girl. The girl yelps and Painwheel takes a look at her.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you," The Medici girl blurted out. "Your flower is very pretty."

The monster girl was taken aback by this. She was never complimented on her looks before. She knew who this girl was, now.
"F-Filia?" The young monster said. "It's...me...Carol."

Carol. That seemed to strike a nerve in the Medici girl. "Look, kid, just keep walking. This bitch is clearly insane," growled the entity hiding in her hat.
The Medici girl quickly shushed the parasite that was attached to her.
"Carol?" She said. Why did that name sound familiar?

The monster girl lowered her head, her fear realized. She did not remember her. The parasite was to blame for that. His name was Samson. The brash, demonic, alcoholic parasite attached to Filia's head was solely responsible for not only erasing her memories, but for devouring her parents in the process. Not only that, but he also forced her to start eating massive quantities of food in order to regain his strength, causing the young girl to become a bit, chunky.
The monster girl had one last tactic. Without even flinching, she pulls off the mask sewn into her face, ignoring the blood dripping off her face when she finished.

That's when it all came back. All the memories. Everything.
"Carol, is that you?" Filia asked, surprised.

The monster's heart did backflips. See, Carol was not really popular in school. She was mostly the one being made fun of in school for her body not developing as quickly as the other girls. Filia however, was best friends with her. Despite Samson wiping out all of her memories, those refused to leave. The monster girl nodded, and look up and the Medici girl, her once white eyes, now jet black and her irises crimson. Filia reaches out to her, and the monster girl takes her and helps her up.

"I was...afraid you wouldn't remember." Carol whispered.

"Me too," Filia said. "But I do now. What happened to you?"

Too shook up by the memories of Lab Zero, she decided to say, "A lot of things." and left it at that.

Filia looks around.
"Don't you have anyone to spend Christmas with?" She asked.

Carol shook her head.

"My parents don't even want me. Because...I'm a monster." Tears welled up in the monster's eyes. Then, the poor thing started to cry. "I'm a monster..."

The Medici girl hugged her tightly. "Shh, it's okay, it's okay..."she whispered and the monster cried more. After a good 2 minutes, she stopped crying.

"I have nobody now." Carol said.

Filia was not having any of that.

"You have me."

"W-what?"

"You can spend Christmas with me."

"You'd really do that for me?"

"You're my best friend. You can live with me."

Overjoyed, she managed to smile.

"T-thank you, Filia,"The monster said. The Medici girl then gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Ugh, sick." The parasite complained.

"Shut up, Samson," Filia growled under her breath. "Come on, Carol. Let's head  to my place. You can have a nice hot shower, and I'll get you some clothes. Would you like that?"

The monster nodded and they headed down the street. She reached out for the Medici girl's hand, but was reluctant a little. Filia wasn't. She felt her fingers touch hers, and she took her hand and without hesitation. With that, the Monster and the Medici decided to spend the Christmas season together. When no one else around them would, all they had now was each other. And they could not be happier.

A truly deep bond you two have. Even through the chains of amnesia, the storm of memories rages through Filia. And the unbreakable bond never dies. Glad you two have such closeness. Few could ever be so lucky.
